For the longest time I wanted a Galil. But I’m leaning towards the Tavor at this point.

Yep. The only shotguns I’d want anyway are the Origin 12 or a Saiga 12.

I have two Mac semi autos and they have been nothing short of perfect, the third semi auto I have is a Tristar 20ga only 75 rounds through it shooting trap and not a single failure. I do run buck shot at the range to break them in, can they compare to my Beretta semi autos? Not in this world, but for the money I don’t expect them to.
MAC semi autos are clones of Benellis so those are fine. Tristars are good too. Those are classic style semi-auto shotguns.
Talking more about the AR15 style and bullpup semi autos you see cheap all the time in PSA Emails.
So I’m finally thinking about getting my toes wet with an AR-15 rifle. I’m thinking about the Smith and Wesson model in .22LR. I have seen it on sale before the the 3rd Circuit case. Does that mean it’s not really an AR-15 platform rifle? Anybody have any experience with it? Also are NJ dealers selling larger magazines yet? My local gun shop is Cheyenne Mountain in Bordentown.
If u want a cool looking 22 plinker, the S&W is not a bad choice, but it is not an AR-15. Is there a reason for looking at 22lr instead of 223/556?

I’ll just add an extended mag tube to my M4.
Never had an AR-15 platform rifle. how much more cleaning/maintenance over a lever, pump or bolt in comparison? Don’t want another different bullet/ammo.

The AR platform is designed to make maintenance easy. Much easier to clean than the others you mentioned.
f you are stuck on 22lr, get an AR-15 lower and a dedicated 22lr upper. Should you decide to step up to centerfire 223/556, or some other cartridge, you only need to get another upper for that cartridge.

I have the CMMG 22LR conversion kit. Best of both worlds IMO.

The downside of the CMMG kit compared to a dedicated upper is the amount of crud that gets sent into the receiver through the gas tube. You don’t need a gas port or tube on a dedicated upper.
Totally true. The CMMG instructions mention to shoot full power .223/5.56 after a session of .22 to blow out the gas tube. You might get a face full of powder the first few full power shots 
It’s not that bad really just something to be aware of and I’ve never experienced any issues after using it, I’m a fan.
Get a piston driven AR. More money but a lot cleaner

Yes but is it the “NJ Legal” version with the 18.5 inch barrel and pinned muzzle brake? I want the 16.5" barrel with (usable) threaded barrel.
