Ive use my printer for many things including.

I modified these files as well to sort .223 and 9mm seperately, with a deeper base.

I’ve found bench blocks for multipe firearms, sight pushers, cartidge/ammo trays.

There are obvious limits on the durability of these items, and I often print with high temp plastics that carry more du

rability.

I would suppose that if your a holster maker then being able to print a “form” would be great. Especially for an oddball gun.

If you have access to a good scanner you could make any molds you want. Doesnt even make sense to buy a doner gun if your in that business.

A significant factor in my decision to purchase a 3D printer was reloading related. What really put me over the edge was when I bought something in the $30+ range that I could have printed for a dollar or two at the most. Worse, the seller did not disclose that it was a 3D printed item, I discovered that once it arrived.

I have since found numerous uses for it, not just reloading related.

If you do a lot of DIY, which I inevitability have many hobby related projects going on at once. A printer gives you access to many unique options.

The last two years ive been in youtube university learning Fusion 360.

Not to get off topic but I have the first version of the Ruger PC Carbine that I i would love to put a heat shield on the barrel. I’ve searched online for one but nobody seems to make them and I’ve always wondered if one could be made on a 3D printer. Do you think that something like that could be made? Could be a nice little side hussell for someone.

I don’t see why not.

Something similar to this

You would need to use an extremely heat tolerant material. That wouldnt fall under a common use for 3d printing.

I would be hesistant to use anything 3d printed on an actual firearm.

Why?

With the right material, it’s not a big deal. I have a 3D printed case deflector on one of my AUG stocks.
Works fine after hot brass ejects on it.

Transition tempatures wouldnt be high enough for most filaments to be exposed to constant tempatures of a barrel.

A case deflector is probably fine, but adhesion between layers is a common failure, and i want security in knowing my gear can pass a drop test. Which rules out a lot of useful accessories that could be printed.

This case deflector was designed for an AUG, but with a little trimming, fits my MSAR.

I’m interested to see how it works long term, but initial tests were good.

Hot brass bumping off it didn’t phase it in the least.

3D printing also comes in handy for things like limiters, I buy one from magblocks and just copy the design and make my own for 25c, if that

Where can i grab those files?

I dont have them posted anywhere yet

I think Jack is asking where you obtained them and he can grab them himself. Understandable if you want to keep that to yourself.

If you want to post them here in Documents - New Jersey Gun Forums let me know the file extensions to allow. The current file upload size limitation is 4MB but I can modify that.

Oh I made most of them myself, a few are from thingiverse. Theyre all on my other computer so I may post them up later on

Upon further consideration looking at storage and such we will not be hosting any 3D printing files on this site at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience.

You can get a hand guard.

I just started printing an automatic case feeder for my LNL progressive.

Its going to be a bit of a mishmash between jthors thingiverse rifle auto feeder, GalluB’s pistol feeder. And the lower assembly by Bartje64 that feeds the press.

The lower section is already printed and assembled. I just started printing the upper bucket on my modified Ender 5 plus, about 26hr print time.

You need a bigger volume printer for this project ti come out clean, but if not there are options to split the parts.
