.22 Handgun

Looking for a .22 pistol for a young female shooter new to firearms. NOT looking for a competition gun, something in the cheap side.

Glock 44, Ruger Mark 1-4, S&W Victory are all solid.

Also have a look at Ruger SR22.

Yeah the Ruger is something I have my eye on.

Browning Buckmarks are a very solid choice with tons of factory options available.

I agree as I have a Buckmark, Ruger Mark II and SR22. The Buckmark and Ruger Mark series are more target pistols where the SR22 is like your typical semiauto. Depends what you are looking for but OP mentions for new female shooter and not for competition. The SR22 has a small grip and longer trigger travel and is DA/SA w/ decocker. I would rather that for a new shooter where the Buckmark and Mark Series will likely have a light single action trigger.

The SR22 would be like a M&P .380 ez in the hands of a man, that being said, my wife loves shooting her SR22, plus it’s a pretty purple I’m told all the time.

Buckmark FTW.

The walther p22 is the best pistol I have found for first time shooters. It’s perfect for small to medium sized hands and has good sights and easy controls.

Sights are not ideal for a new shooter.

The Taurus TX22 Toro gen 2 is a real nice 22 pistol and it’s relatively inexpensive. On top of the above you can also add a red dot to it if she wants .

I’d second the Wrangler. They are simple, safe, easy to understand…and a load of fun to shoot.

Also take a look at the GSG 1911, if a 1911 style would work for the shooter.

Shoots great, relatively cheap.
