DO NOT SHOOT THE KIMBER 2K11 YOU WILL WANT TO SELL EVERYTHING YOU OWN TO GET ONE!! LOLOL.
My brother-in-law bought one, and we took it to the range in Philthadelphia, and we blew through a ton of ammo and he let me shoot his new buy. Oh lordy lordy lordy.. what an amazing piece of work this thing is, the trigger was butter and man the paper didn’t stand a chance! Great weight feel all it was perfect.
I was in the market for a 2011 for USPSA Limited Optics and GPA Full Size Optics.
The Kimber 2K11 was high on the list. @Krdshrk let me shoot his.
In the end I went for a Staccato HD P4.5 for only a couple of hundred more.
What swung it for me was the sight block which cuts muzzle rise significantly, narrower grip allowing easier access to the mag release, (for use in actual America) the Mec-gar mags can be extended to 25 rounds reloadable and still be in the 141.25mm limit, a more durable finish and an external extractor that will never need tuning. The series 80 trigger is fixable. I got mine down to 3lb 3oz with approx 1lb 4oz take up while still having the firing pin block operational. The grip texture on the Staccato is just about perfect too.
The Kimber can be had with a compensator for the same price, but that would have bumped the gun into Open division and 9mm minor is not competitive in USPSA Open.
ETA - No grip safety on the Staccato HD either. With some 1911’s I have had issues not hitting the grip safety on a fast draw which kills the time to first shot.
Do it - get one. No Ragrets.
Stu liked it but he was hunting for something very specific… Cuz He’s already got 2011’s and other high end stuff… This is my 2nd 2011… and I shot it when it was first released at SHOT Show 2025, and the Pro/Comp versions at this year’s SHOT Show… I had to buy one - I loved it so much.
you guys, really I’ve been telling myself I’m not buying anything for now. I have been checking out options for Limited Optics pistols for a while but I haven’t really decided on any guns yet. I was considering a SA Prodigy or Sig GTO 211.
I’m applying for permits and buying my first Kimber
