Training for Maryland carry permit

Is there anyone here who has information about Maryland CC training available in NJ (preferably in or near South Jersey) that is planned for the next few months? Thanks.

The place I took my Jersey qualification offers the Maryland qualifier in addition to NJ and NY.

I’ve been to two of his classes, thanks to NJ changing things up, and I’d recommend him to anyone looking. Classes are over in Shamong.

Edit-add info
I just received and email that Ironsights is holding a combo NY/MD/Utah class Nov 30 & Dec 1 to cover all the training hours.

Thanks! Shamong is close enough. Last classes I knew about from the “other place” were 2 or more hours away in North Jersey. I’ll see if I can get it together to register fr that November session.

No editing of posts here, I guess. Anyway, on closer inspection, those classes are a bit confusing. Your link does indeed pull up a page that says “Maryland CCW Permit / 2 8 hour days / $350”. But the link to the schedule shows only a NYS/NYC class with add-ons available for MD and/or Utah at $100 each. It does also say “We will host separate “Maryland ONLY” and “Utah ONLY” classes shortly.” I guess I’ll need to wait on that. Last I checked, NY requires ownership of property in-state, there is no “non-resident” permit. I don’t relish paying $550 for a class if most of that is going toward meeting NYS requirements. I’ll ask to be notified of impeding MD only classes, hopefully that won’t take too long.

Got it. Not a problem

It’s probably out of your way, but Union Hill Gun Club in Monroe had MD training at their place.

It takes a smidge more effort, but there is a better way to get your MD carry permit.

Get certified as an NRA Basic Pistol Instructor which will take some time and money, but then you can register with MD as a Qualified Handgun Instructor which is free. Once you have your QHIC number you are exempt from the MD training requirements both for initial and renewal.

As an added bonus, you will also be able to run your people through the NJ qualification. Your friends will like you even more!
