Tomorrow ! Spring lake Children's Trout Tournament

My 5 year-old grandson will be participating. I plan to attend, and I will try to drop by.

Seriously, best one we ever put on !
And everything was free, it’s all run on donation.

Weather was beautiful, lots of food, Bagels, Coffee, Duncan donuts, huge trays of cookies and brownies, candy, hot chocolate, Ralphs Italian Ices (we sugared em up to the point of tweaking). Then Thumans hot dogs, and Jersey mikes subs and all the soda, water, and Gatorade they could choke down.

NJ DEP had a huge truck full of displays with two reps talking away outside with tables of cool stuff, pelts, dinosaur stuff…, Monmouth County 250th Anniversary had their truck there, the Gyoto guy doing the fish prints (for free) was a HUGE hit, he was still there doing it after we had finished and broken down. That was extremely cool!! We had the petting zoo, Pirates doing the face painting, another stocking in the middle of the day, The American Legion had their tent and tournament going, Sparky busted his butt working the help tent, giving out Panther Martin and Yozuri lures, worms, Powerbait, helping rig rods.

When it was over, the grand prize winner walked away with over $2500 worth of prizes, including offshore trips, party boat trips, gear… Top three in each age division went home with really nice prizes. The biggest Golden won a bicycle. Every kid went home with prizes, a rod and reel if they caught a trout, a goodie bag full of good stuff if they didn’t.

And everything ran extremely smoothly from beginning to end !
