Do you only have 1 gun at the moment?
For my daily carry gun I use one of these next to my bed. The XL is large enough for 1 full size and 1 compact gun and allows quick access through the RFID bracelet, or tag.

Yeah just 1 pistol rn, doesn’t that case have foam in it as well? I guess an alternative would be the holster but I don’t have one since I don’t have a CCL
Laying it on a thin piece of foam is less bad than wrapping foam all around it.
Also, not all foam is soluble in cleaning solvent. You may be OK, but I wouldn’t risk it myself.
One would hope that a storage case that is marketed for gun storage would be resistant to the chemicals associated with guns.

Read somewhere that the soft foam also absorbs moisture, holding it in the case.
Yeah but I’m not putting anything wet in it, and I store the case in a closet where I have a couple of bags of damprid hanging, so hoping that won’t be a problem.
