Hi all, does anyone here own a Stoeger M3000 in NJ, specifically model 36072? I’m getting mixed opinions on whether the grip on this model would be considered a pistol grip under NJ laws or not. Curious if anyone has firsthand experience with it or has transferred one in NJ successfully. Thanks
According to NJ Rev Stat § 2C:39-1 (2025):
z. “Pistol grip” means a well-defined handle, similar to that found on a handgun, that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, and which permits the shotgun to be held and fired with one hand.
According to Mirriam Webster:
conspicuous (adj): obvious to the eye or mind
With these two defintions in mind, that is not a pistol grip because it doesn’t protrude (to jut out from the surrounding surface or context) as it supports the stock.
I see zero issues. Besides, it’s dimensionally very similar to Magpul’s shotgun stocks.

Thanks , I’ll give it a try and order
All ya need to do is call any LGS and ask if they have one.
