Stafford Forge Clay Shoot & Rifle Range Day - October 5th

OPEN INVITATION

South Jersey Clay Shoot & Rifle Range Day

Howdy folks. It’s about time we get together again to turn some money into noise. Come join us 10-5-25 at the Stafford Forge WMA shotgun and rifle ranges for a morning of clay busting and paper punching fun.

200-3531422351

WHO: You, family, friends.
WHERE: Stafford Forge WMA trap and rifle ranges (GSP Exit 58)
WHEN:October 5th 2025
TIME: 0900 (we will be setting up at 0830)

If you will be joining, please let us know how many will attend and what you are bringing so we can plan for supplies.

Shooting commences at 0900 and keeps going until we get bored, run out of ammo, or hear mom calling us home. Shoots usually go until about 1300, leaving plenty of time for everyone to stop in at any time and join the party.

As always, these meet-ups are informal gatherings, just plain old fun to promote shooting sports and encourage training, please feel free to bring friends and family.

Shooters of all experience levels are welcome, if you have never shot clays or a rifle before, or want some tips on improving your skills, this is your chance to dust off that shotgun or rifle you bought years ago and gain some needed experience.

What you will need.

CLAYS: Bring your shotgun(s), as much #7.5 or #8 lead target/field loads as you want to shoot, and depending on how much you want to shoot, a carton of clay pigeons would be great. Don’t forget eyes and ears. Also recommended is a chair, sun screen, insect repellent, and something to drink.

RIFLE: Stafford has an excellent 100 yd range with five or six lanes for rifle up to 30 cal.

If you or your guests do not have a shotgun or rifle, and just want to see what long guns are all about, a loaner pump action and 22 rimfire rifle will be available.

Basic Checklist

  • Shotgun/Rifle

  • Ammo

  • Eye and ear protection (mandatory)

  • Clay targets (optional but recommended for volume shooters)

  • Shell pouch (optional)

  • Folding chair (optional)

  • Water

  • ** YOU DO NOT NEED A HUNTING LICENSE - If you do have a 2025 hunting license, please bring it in case we need to split the group.*

As long as Saturday goes as planned, I’ll be there with my boom-stick and a case of clays.

As usual lots of fun !

Anyone who hasn’t been to one of these is missing out !!
No pressure, every kind of shotgun you can imagine in attendance. None of that trap shooting upper crust snootiness (those people would hate us).

I think we missed more than we hit. I know I did.

We had a great day. Burned through about 750 targets on the clay range. Thanks to Sudsy, many of us got to shoot a muzzle loader for the first time ever.

@Sudsy - thanks much for letting us try out black powder shotties. Very interesting experience!

Click - sizzzle - BOOM.

Darn. Bummed I left too early and missed the muzzle loader.

You snooze, you lose, bro. If u ask Sudsy nice like, maybe he’ll bring it to the next shoot.

Snooze? I was there before you.

My kinda outing. I’ll keep an eye out for any more of these in the future.
