Sherrill’s campaign got to the issue of economic stressors in the state and blamed republicans. The fact the republicans have had zero opportunity to steer this ship be dammed. But Ciattarelli’s campaign was not effectively refuting that. They were too focused on utility prices rather than the whole package.

Trump angers the blue base and motivates them.

A lot of Trump’s policies don’t sit well with many on the right, they didn’t want Ciattarelli to side with him and he did.

At the same time for those who like Trump, Ciattarelli looked too middle of the road.

10/31/27 if the lights are still on I’ll turn them of as I leave. Jack may have been able to slow down the financial ruin of the state and I may have hung around for another year or so but but that will only accelerate now.
If you had to stand there for decades, you’d want the extra support too.
