Pleasantly surprised by this little pistol, very soft shooter, accurate with range ammo, only have about 100 rounds down the barrel so far, yea, it’s that new. The night sights are a welcome plus. Went with the std version, like the rubber grips and the trigger was smooth.
Cool little pistol. I like SAO triggers as they tend to provide a bit more accuracy for me.
Have one myself. It’s my primary carry. It likes to run a little wet and does not like Syntech ammo but 124g S&B runs good as well as Hornady Critical Defense 115g.
I found mine to be snappy! My EDC is now a Sig p355XL which I shoot much better.
Have had this pistol to the range 4 times, maybe 300 rounds down the barrel, this Sunday, my aim was off three inches left, what the heck, concentrated on my grip, trigger control and nope couldn’t shoot for crap. Looked at my sights and my rear sight was pushed left, touched it and it slid right off. Called Sig this morning explained what happened, all the tech could say was “really”, so RA was emailed, slide goes back tomorrow.
No way! Sorry to hear that. Hopefully they will turn it around quickly.
I also have a P938. mine is off as well but it’s not the gun! Too damn snappy for me! I like my P365XL way better.
I have a 365x-macro with a dot installed, can’t shoot it worth a darn, practiced extensively with it hoping to use it as my carry. But it was not to be, bought a VP9sK installed the same brand dot and love it, very accurate with that pistol. Flat triggers seem to be an issue with me.
The VP9sK probably fits your hand better than the 365x-macro. I have a p365 but swapped to a Wilson Combat XL frame and I shoot that just fine.
The one gun I do have trouble with is my S&W shield plus and it drives me nuts. I’m not a big guy and I have smaller hands so I suspect it’s my grip. I never had this issue with any of my full size stuff only the smaller guns.
I do have the grip maxed out on the VP9SK, takes up some of the slack with my trigger finger, never thought about swapping the frame with a Wilson, may have to look into it. Right now my 365 is a safe Queen. Thanks for the suggestion.
Sig installed a new rear sight and turned it around in one week, Sunday will be the test.
The more I practice with this pistol, the more I appreciate it, with a few weeks of practice, it shoots like a pistol with a 4” barrel and sight radius. The rubber Hogue grips along with the finger grooves give me a solid grip, no failures so far, and I have run a bunch of different brands of ammo, FMJ, and defensive rounds.
The addition of the Kimber Micro 9 extended mags add a nice bit of real estate to the grip, even the Kimber 7 round mags with pinky rest are very comfortable.
I qualified with mine 2 years for ccw.
Shot out to 50 yard and got almost a perfect score with it.
Its definitely a great sub compact that shoots very well.
What qual was that?
The first qual that is still valid was the HQC2 Modified which was max 25 yards. The current CCARE qual is max 15 yards.
Prior to these, instructors decided for themselves what they needed to see to be able to sign off that a person was competent. What instructor was asking candidates to shoot 50 yards with a sub-compact?
Sorry. Its was 25 yards max…
Still suprised how easy it is to shoot accurately out that distance. It took some effort with my G19, and scored lower with that one.
Lol - just like the one that got away, right?
Fun story…
Several years ago I was invited to shoot at a private range in PA by @Golfbattery When I got there, he was shooting either a P938 or a P238 - I don’t remember which, but they are pretty much the same gun chambered for 9mm or .380. Anyway, I was offered a few rounds to try so I started shooting at a plate rack about 15 yards away and hitting 1 for 1. The owner of the range exclaimed, “At last! You have finally brought someone who can shoot!”
I remember that well. Fun times
