I replaced the front bead on an old Winchester Model 37.
Is that a golf tee.
What the hell IS that? A nail?
This is a 60 year old clay busting machine! I patterned it and needed a front bead about .250" above the barrel. First thing was to remove the original bead, it unscrewed in less then a minute with no drama. Unfortunately, the tapped hole was between a #3 and #4 thread. There was enough meat left to drill & tap a good #4. The barrel is .065 thick here so I got in 2-1/2 good threads.
I drew it up in SolidWorks but don’t have a 3D printer anymore. I machined it on a small mill in nylon but it was a little soft. It came out OK but now I will remake it in aluminum. It screwed in fine & I polished the inside of the barrel to make sure it was smooth.
It is a white plastic light pipe from a real front bead. I’m too cheap to buy one.
If you want it 3D printed, send me the file.
From this day forth, you are now our forum’s Bubba.
Thanks! It would print fine if it was side down on the print plate. If it works good & busts clays as planned, I will be in touch.
Probably a question for our admin, can a nick name be added to member’s names? Say, contributing members that are active get a nick name, it would be something related to their online posting personality. Yes, Bubba triggered this thought. For example…
Silverado- meme man, always posting great meme’s
Scorpio- Buster Clay, setting up our meet up’s.
Adds a bit of personality
After this post, I’ll add myself
Redeye65- Don’t Think
Is everyone OK with this?
@Silverado427 @scorpio64 @rifleman
Confirm and I’ll proceed.
I edited Redeye65’s user profile to include this title as and example. Admins can edit this, not sure about Mods. I don’t mind doing these on request. Let me know.
Edit: With the test I did for Redeye65, if he were to select something else in his user profile it wipes out whatever custom entry I add so the user can always clear this. Just FYI Admin/Mod would have to add again.
I’m good
Now we just need members to be them self for a title.
Sure! How about Bubba Gunp?
I remade the thing in aluminum today and gave it a Sharpie paint job.
I added a 13/16" diameter steel rod in the stock to add about 8 ounces of recoil soaking weight. Works great and if she is a little butt heavy (hahaha), the barrel swings great and easily gets in front of the target. I’m not a great shooter but this gun sure is.
