Prices for an ordinary barbershop haircut are outrageous. That is, if you can find an old school barber anymore. Also, there is an aversion to walk-ins too. Even with idle chairs, they insist on an appointment.
Do they still make FlowBees?

Time for you to look around. I haven’t had issues in many years.
Walk in, no appointment, they take me right away or after a short wait. $15 later (plus tip), I’m out the door.

I’ve been going primarily to supercuts or sportclips chains recently. No pre-booking/no appointment, as long as I’m not walking in 5 minutes before closing they’ve taken me no problem. It’s nice that they both keep a file on how I typically get my hair cut, makes for quick start.
It is getting close to $35 total with the fee + tip though which is rough. If I could find a hassle-free barber for less I would.
Got a Jeri Redding set of clippers at Bradlees once the dome started shining. Been doing my own ever since.
I used to go to SuperCuts near me as a walk in, then they changed to by appt only. I guess they reversed that. haven’t been to a franchise like that in years.
have been going to West Park Barber for the past five years. Great guy, a very patriotic Nam vet, and prices were reasonable until recently.
You guys still have all your hair, God bless.![]()
I knew I’d found my new barber almost the minute I moved to North Idaho. Veteran owned, $20 senior cuts including beer, shampoo and hot towel. When you walk in you select a beer from the huge variety they stock in three glass-front coolers, then retire to the sports lounge to relax. When you’ve finished your beer, you get your hair cut. I don’t know why all barber shops don’t work this way!
Well…. Most of it, anyway. At least 2/3rds, but my days of mullets are over.
LOL… Yep… here you go…
I’ve been looking for a new barber since my last one retired. Last one I found I ended up with probably the worst haircut of my life. It can’t be that hard. I don’t have that much hair left.
25 years ago, I was appalled when a hair cut went up to $25, that was almost $1 a hair for me. Bought a beard trimmer and never looked back.
I have not cut my hair since Bush 2 first term. I’ve apparently saved a fortune.
I can do a Mercer County recommendation, if anyone is interested, please let me know.
