selling rifle to a cop, what checks do we need to do? do we still have to transfer at a FFL, do we need nics ?

The exemption applies to transfers between LEO. That is from one LEO to another LEO.

Unless you are also LEO, the transfer must go through an FFL.

Ok now im really confused. I thought long gun transfer was just the NJSP COE form with copies of FID/license retained by both parties…
