What a joke, a FID is not needed legally for gun cleaning supplies. Find another store or order online.
An FID is not even legally required to look at and handle guns in gun stores. But, the only place I’ve seen in NJ that got this right so far is RTSP.
I just found out that if the ammo I want is not in stock it can’t be drop shipped to nJ.
Meaning if companies that work with PSA have inventory in stock they might not drop ship to nj
I was able to order some in stock ammo
Since when? I’ve ordered ammo from them previously - just had to supply FID.
I tried ordering S&B 200 gr sub ammo and it’s dropped shipped by one of their vendors and the vendor won’t ship to Jersey
Ah they’re pulling that BS now. Oh well.
It’s their partner who won’t ship They ship if they have it in their warehouse.
I’ve bought ammo and gun parts from members on this forum and the old forum. I’ve also sold on the old forum too. Most of the guys that post here regularly are good guys. As mentioned FID card should be presented by the buyer, public location like Wawa or a supermarket lot. Daytime transaction and bring a friend. If you dont get warm fuzzy feelings from the buyer don’t commit. Pretty much all these guys that replied on this thread are good guys.
I’ve purchased ammo from here no issues, and I always have my FID etc with me, always meet in public and it’s never been a weird scenario at all. Good people I’ve met so far!
Online orders, PSA wants nothing to do with NJ and frankly I don’t blame them lol. I have ordered almost all of my ammo (outside of what I’ve purchased via here) on line.. And most of the time it’s just having my FID in my profile for them to verify. Also, I use AMMO2 where I have orders 2x a month, and I don’t pay any attention to it until I want it shipped which I just did. Basically $80 a month, build the stash of 9mm 124/115 and 5.56, got my 1st shipment and it was basicaly $250 worth of ammo and I have an ammo box full on top of what i already have
I use Ammosquared also. I actually have a box coming today!
I got 2 boxes 1 from each plan, I got the 1st one and was like ok not sure it’s worth it then the 2nd box came and I was like ok I need more ammo cans! hahaha it’s passive purchasing and storage, on top of my ocd for buying bi-weekly on top of that. OK maybe I have an issue ![]()
lol
Yeah, I guess that’s where my concern comes from. If I was selling to a member that’s been here a while, with a posting history, it would be fine. But I also see a lot of first timers, in some of the WTS posts, and that’s where my concern comes from. You have no idea their history/motives. It’s a bit different selling a $50 accessory versus $100’s of ammo.
What are you going on about here. In all the years of the old and new forums, a couple of guys got scammed on stuff that was supposed to be shipped, never a face to face issue.
This topic is beat to death and straying. Let’s keep it simple and on track. Be cautious when dealing with new members (randos). There is a reason the more people participate on the forum is called Trust Levels.
Ask questions (hey how ya doing, where is your home range, etc) There is a reason for “small talk”. Meet in public places, bring a friend. At any stage of negotiations, if you do not feel the buyer/seller is being 100% honest, back out. It is that simple. Just a modicum of common sense will avert problems.
All of this hand wringing over an imaginary outcome that has not happened here, ever, is poisoning the well. In the 14 years I’ve been on the forum, not once have I heard about a F2F sale going bad, other than a couple of no-shows.
Who peed in your Cheerios this morning???
You might have missed this post a few days ago:
I had a delicious Belgian waffle with home made blueberry topping. It was a little disappointing that I didn’t have whipped cream tho.
I didn’t miss any posts. While the forum does encounter scammers from time to time, even a 12 year old with a modicum of common sense can flush them out. As long as terms are clear, demand for matching DL and FID, communications are not sketchy, agree to meet in a public location, and most importantly, not ignoring red flags just to make a deal go through…. there is little to fret over.
As has been said already, several times, by several members, there is little to worry about just as long as you use some common sense. In other words, the problem is not with the forum, it is with you.
I’ve bought and sold a lot of stuff between the new and old forum. Never had a bad experience and always met up face to face. Actually a lot of the people I did multiple deals with and still have their numbers and will talk from time to time.
The only thing I miss about the old forum is I lost all my contacts that were in my messages and my buying and selling feedback I had like 25 positive transactions
Its payed for keep it . You might need next election
