I hadve a 2" model 649 that I havent carried in awhile. I was using an old blade tech iwb, but I am thinking of putting the gun back into rotation and getting a different holster. The blade tech sat a little high. Thanks!

That ETW holster looks very nice, especially with the clip on the side. I have a leather Braids IWB clip holster for my SW 642. I think it cost around $35 a few years ago. I got the unmolded version and just wet-molded it myself to save a few bucks.

I don’t remember the type of holster I bought, and I only bought it because I was forced to use one for this stupid states latest CCW qualifying rules. My S&W 5 shot revolver fits in the pocket of anything I wear and no one knows it is there.

Looking at this thread again, remembered I had a thought I didn’t express previously:

If you want extreme “concealability” / lowest overall profile for the revolver+holster then the clip can NOT be mounted over the cylinder. It’s got to be to one side or the other of the cylinder.

That’s an immediate visual check on how “serious” a revolver holster is.

I did for a year or so, a long time ago. It was a Charter Arms Pitbull. I initially started carrying it as a backpacking / camping pocket gun and it evolved into an EDC until… I was on a roadtrip with the family, traveling in a remote area. We had an involuntary interaction with a couple of guys that could have been extras on Breaking Bad. As I started going over in my mind how I was going to get us safely through the situation I realized I had no faith in that little short barreled five shot. It all worked out fine but when I got home I went out and bought a Sig 365 almost immediately. Now I alternate between an xmacro / eps carry / TLR7 and a bare bones glock 43x with ameriglo sights, depending on the circumstances. I’d never go back to a revolver for self defense outside the house.
