It is my understanding that a PTC renewal will now be issued starting from the expiration date of the current permit no matter how early you apply (as long as it’s not earlier than 3 months). I lost a month off of my renewal last year because they were dating them from the time of approval (I applied 2 months prior to expiration of my initial permit and was approved after 7 weeks). Is this correct?

You can apply for a renewal up to 4 months before your current expiry date.
Thanks for the quick responses and confirmation guys. It’s such a joke that we have to do this every two years for several hundred bucks. My PA permit is 5 years and FL permit is 7.
