PSA PA10 Bolt Catch Roll Pin Source?

Well, it happened to me…

giphy

I need to source a replacement bolt catch roll pin for a PSA PA10 (.308) lower that isn’t going to cost me $10 delivered for a $.10 part.

Anyone happen to know if the bolt catch roll pin dimensions are the same for an AR15 as an AR10?

Happened to me last week. Had a spare thankfully. Then I found the original a few hours later.

Just gonna get ahead of this in case you lose anything else to low earth orbit.

Interchangeable Springs (AR-15 parts that work in an AR-10):

  • Trigger & Hammer Springs: Identical. (Mil-spec fire control groups and associated springs cross over seamlessly).

  • Disconnector Spring: Identical.

  • Safety Selector (Selector) Spring: Identical.

  • Takedown & Pivot Pin Springs: Identical. (The pins themselves are different sizes, but the tiny springs and detents are the exact same).

  • Buffer Retainer Spring: Identical.

  • Bolt Catch Spring: Identical.

  • Magazine Catch Spring: Identical.

Thanks. So that means the roll pin is NOT identical to an AR15.

Welp, looks like I’ll be ordering some stuff from PSA shortly.

No! They are the same spring. AR15 or AR10, same spring.

Spring? He needs a roll pin, not a spring. But as far as springs go, the list indicates that the bolt catch spring is identical.

What I hated about building my DMR was the lack of one standard. low profile rail, high rail, LR308, AR10 AR308 KAC DPMS1 DPMS2 I mean W the actual F.

BTW @DirtyDigz I wuz gonna dig through my spare parts drawer cuz I have a DPMS1 AR and see if I have that pin but realized my catch does not use a pin, it uses an allen screw.

Thanks Scorp. I found a contact on reddit for PSA, have asked him if the roll pin is sold separately or is the same as AR15, will probably get an answer tomorrow.

AR10 bolt catch roll pin is larger than AR15, spring is the same.

According to PSA contact it’s a “standard 3/32 roll pin”. Just going to buy an assortment set on Amazon so I’m never hunting for one again.

Precisely why I’ll build an AR15 but both of my large frame guns are factory built guns.
