Taylor Ham is a myth.
Silverado427 KNOWS how to do breakfast right.
And if you ask for Taylor Ham, you get what? Directions to the nearest border?
Deported
I’ll tell ya what you wont get, it is almost NEVER Taylor Pork Roll, so it is deceptive. And, since there is no such thing as Taylor Ham, they can pretty much give you any mystery meat. If u r lucky you might get Case’s.
pork roll dagnabit
Man, I haven’t had a PEK in like forever. Need to correct that soon!
pork roll
There is no one alive today that has ever seen an actual package that says “Taylor Ham” on it. For over 100 years it has been and will be forever called Pork Roll. North Jersey needs to get over themselves.
I can’t begin to explain how much I hate this topic! It’s such a waste of energy!
I like bacon.

Ahhhh, not so fast…
Pork roll is a processed meat commonly available in New Jersey and neighboring states.[1] It was developed in 1856 by John Taylor of Trenton, and sold as "Taylor’s Prepared Ham" until 1906.
That Chopped Ham box is a fake. It never existed.
No one says it’s called Taylor’s Prepared Ham - I’d have an easier time accepting that over Taylor Ham.
What if you get Case or Trenton or Foodtown Brand? Is it still “Taylor Ham”
Ham is a specific cut of meat. Pork Roll is most certainly not Ham. If it was originally called that, it was correct to make them change the name. You can’t call chicken breast a steak.
According to history, it was originally classified as a processed ham product in 1856. It wasn’t until later, that it was re-classified in 1906:
the creation of the product was made official in 1856. According to every source, a state Senator and well-known businessman by the name of John Taylor from Hamilton Square, N.J., originally named his product “Taylor’s Prepared Ham.” Taylor was forced to omit the “ham” part of the name because it didn’t meet the new new definition of “ham” established by the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906.
Who gives a shit! It’s been marketed as Taylor Pork Roll for a VERY long time!
Taylor Pork Roll.
End thread.
