I currently have my CCW for both NJ and PA, but frequently vacation in DE and MD. Neither DE or MD recognize my current permits, and it looks almost impossible to get a DE permit if you are not a resident, so I’m looking for another state that is easy to apply to and both DE and MD will recognize. So far Maine is looking pretty good. Anyone else gone through this, and if so which state permit did you end up getting? Thanks.

A Florida non resident will give you Delaware, That’s why I got mine. It won’t work for Maryland though!

MD is like NJ. They only recognize their own permit.
You can sit through the mandatory 16 hours of training for the initial permit and then do the 8 hours refresher each time you renew, or you can become a NRA basic pistol instructor and bypass that noise.

I’d rather just drive around MD via Rte 13. There is no reason for me to ever step foot in MD.

I have a Utah Non-Resident I got years ago that will work for Delaware. Maryland you have to get their license. I think Gun For Hire and ROC at Union Hill both run a Maryland class that you can do here in NJ.
I’ve done the same thing in the RV… Isn’t it absolutely crazy, that we have to look at the reciprocity map each day, to see what state we’re driving through, will honor our right to self-defense??
New Mexico was a shocker. I expected it to be far more 2a friendly.

New Mexico has been pretty Blue for a while..
But if you think about the states that accept our existing CCW permits, it really is nuts. I have to stop and think, when we cross into a different state, what the reciprocity agreement is, and which “tool” I can use to protect us, in that state.
Funny thing, we’re driving a 14,000 lb. killing machine (our motorhome), with no official drivers training on it, and our drivers license has reciprocity in all 50 states…

This is true. They say the last time the Governors office and both houses of the State Legislature had Republican majorities, at the same time, was back in 1930 or 1932.
