NJ's Oldest LGS [and Gun Club]

When we think about gun shops that that have “been around forever”, like Caso’s (1969) or Bob’s Little Gun Shop (1945), none can hold a candle to one club in Monroe Twp.

One “LGS” has been in business here for 171 years, The Union Hill Gun Club [and shop] was established during the latter days of the Antebellum period in 1854.

Originally a trap club, with a small shop selling shotguns, UHGC has a long history and evolution. It is one of the oldest continually operating gun clubs and gun stores in the nation.

It is amazing to think at least one survivor LGS has endured NJ’s decades of anti 2A policy. The club started out in the days of black powder, and was mainly a trap range in the days of shooting live pigeons in big clouds of white smoke.

Centaur firearms rt46 lodi, meltzers in lodi, rays sportshop and navy arms in ridgefield. All gone today, although navy arms might be around in west va but nothing like it was.
