Etiquette
- Please read through the information on the site and the other member’s comments before getting involved in the discussion yourself.
- Be sure to respect the views of other members even if they don’t agree with you.
- Be constructive. It’s okay to disagree with other forum members, in fact we encourage debate, we just ask to keep the dialogue positive.
- Don’t be insulting and keep things civil. We recognize that this can be difficult sometimes, especially when you are passionate about an issue, but it is important to keep the discussion focused on the issues rather than letting it deteriorate into personal insults.
- Once you’ve left your comment check back on the forum to see what other people have to say.
- If you feel you have been insulted, please report their comment to the moderators or admin. Please don’t perpetuate a dispute. The staff will review the offending comment and make a determination on whether it should be removed.
- Please stay on topic. These forums have been created for subjects primarily involving shooting sports. Please stay within the boundaries of the subject matter.
- Do not use all “CAPS LOCK”. Writing in ALL CAPS is the equivalent of SHOUTING and can cause offense to the reader.
- Duplicating posts will be removed. Only choose one discussion topic under which you would like to post each of your unique comments. Don’t cut and paste the same comment into lots of different discussion topics.
- Anti “troll” rule. Trolls intentionally incite annoyance or offense. They do not participate constructively in the discussion and do not add any value to the debate. Being a troll will lead to moderation and possibly termination of your account. You’ve been warned.
- Don’t bully, harass or threaten other members of the forum. If another member has an opinion that you don’t agree with, you have no right to demand that they support their position with a detailed argument. They do not have to respond to your questions. It is up to each individual to participate in the forum as much or as little as they wish.
- Please be respectful of the moderators. Their job is to keep the forum safe and constructive so that everybody gets to have his or her fair say.
- Try to avoid using acronyms or technical jargon so that more people will understand the points you are trying to make.
Comments that violate the terms of use agreement or that are unlawful may be removed by the moderator.
- Don’t post any personal information about another forum member. This includes identifying any individual by their real name if they have not already done so or providing personal contact information.
- Don’t post anything that could be considered intolerant of a person’s race, culture, appearance, gender, sexual preference, religion or age.
- Don’t post anything that threatens or harms the reputation of any person or organization. If you wish to accuse someone of committing a crime or being a moron this is not the place to do it.
- Don’t be obscene and refrain from using any foul language. Disguising swear words by obfuscating/deliberately misspelling them doesn’t make them any less offensive.
- Don’t personally insult or harass other members. Focus on your substantive comments and not on other members, personally. Members are entitled to choose not to enter into debate with you.
- Don’t post or link to inappropriate, offensive or illegal material. Inappropriate content is anything that may offend another member or is not relevant to the forum.
- Don’t complain about the moderation on the site; you can message an admin if you are unhappy with a moderator’s decision.
Vendor Account Rules
Your username shall be the same as your business name, or clearly indicate the association with your business.
- Multiple accounts are allowed for additional representatives, e.g., Widgets Inc John, Widgets Inc Jane, Widgets Inc Customer Service.
- In addition to your supporting vendor account, you may also have a personal account for everyday chit-chat.
We prefer that you promote your business through your supporting vendor account; however, we understand you may also want to have a standard account for your own reasons.
Supporting vendors with personal accounts are permitted to link or reference their supporting vendor account at the bottom of their personal account posts. (We need sigs)
Please be respectful towards fellow vendors and competitors. Publicly disrespecting supporting vendors, regardless of member type, is strictly prohibited.
Any member who flames, trolls, antagonizes, taunts, or otherwise “stirs the pot” will be given a warning. Repeated violations may result in a temporary or permanent ban.
In addition to advertising your products and services, we welcome and encourage informative posts about products, e.g., how-to (DIY) guides, events, 2A legislation, legal information, methodologies, etc. (We may be able to encourage vendor blogs about product, events, etc.)
You are encouraged to share your expertise through your vendor account or personal account.
Your knowledge is a valuable asset to the NJ shooting sports community. Your contributions inform and make NJ’s 2A community stronger.
