NJ Car insurance rates

If you haven’t gotten a renewal for 2026, get ready to pucker more then ever. I just got mine, I have NJ Manf. Know it’s one of the better ones, but Dam.

I thought it would go down taking one of my sons off the policy. It went up more than what it was with him on it. Rep told me policies are going up 20-40%.

I asked why? Was told higher repair expenses, higher medical, and more cost for uninsured, unlicensed motorists. Was told NJ one of the worst.

They should have lead with that. We all know who is the problem, but nobody is allowed to say anything… like the emperors new cloths, we all see the naked truth, but nobody can do or say anything about it because they are a no bail protected class. The left believes that you and I should foot the bill for these drivers out of their ideology of equity. Like, we owe them.

i’d venture that weed being “legal” here now has a bit to do with it too.

I’ve been with Geico for the past bunch of years. My policy renewed in September, and it went up 8%.

Mine renewed in October. Went up about 20%. That was on top of going up more than 10% the year before.

Company, if you wouldn’t mind. We’re looking to shop around this year. 4 cars. 3 daily drivers and 1 “pleasure car.”

I have NJ Manufactures..

Didn’t NJM start issuing to outside nj govt employees. Went downhill after that

My USAA renews in Feb, I’ll just have to wait and see

Thanks! I used to have access to their programs, but not anymore.

I had NJM for both home and auto and they got way pricey. Switched to GEICO for auto and saved about a third, though it’s been going up over time too…

When we lived in NJ, we used CURE.

Great company and great rates.

I have heard that Cure works hard to kick people off in order to not pay claims. Sounds mostly legit (meaning kicking people off is justified) but some technicality/fine line too.

I had 2 claims paid by CURE, absolutely ZERO hassle.

The first was on my wife’s new SUV, which was attacked by a deer.

Second was on my car, which was a total loss from a hit and run. The payout was more than I expected and no hassle. I would still have them if they wrote insurance in Texas.
