Nevada NICS Has Been Down For 2 Weeks

Take Note - Similar setup to NJ with a state-required “NICS” instead of just going to the federal NICS.

May see some legislation arise out of this that effectively means “State NICS not available? Ok, instant pass” to put the “hurt” on the State instead of the people:

… Though the background checks are done federally, the state is still required to process background checks and has been unable to do so since the cyberattack on Aug. 24.

“Nevada was designated by the FBI as a full Point of Contact state in November 1998; therefore, backgrounds cannot circumvent the state and go directly to the FBI,” the memo said. …

Seems ripe for a lawsuit to get rid of the state level NICS checks. There’s no excuse for it to go for as long as it has.

Agreed. But at the same time, NFA Division is turning around suppressors and machine guns federally, as fast, if not faster than New Jersey is letting us have bolt guns in some cases.
