Murphy Touting Gun Violence Down

Murphy and Platkin were on the news touting gun violence down in NJ over the past three years. Gee! What else has happened in the past three years. We got the right to carry. They refuse to put two and two together and continue to go after our 2A rights. There are hundreds of more guns on the street now yet shootings are down, but no mention. What a bunch of A-holes.

Every time they post something along those lines on the NJOAG Facebook they get a barrage of replies to remind them that the drop in crime coincided with Bruen and the sudden increase in carry permits.

Now will they ever acknowledge guns have positive societal benefits? Never.

What gun grabbers don’t get is that gun violence is just a small subset of violent crime. When violent crime goes down, so does violent crime committed with guns. Violent crime in most of the US has been trending downward for 30 years, irrespective of individual states’ laws. You still see high gun crime in some cities, and it’s not an issue of gun laws, but of police and community presence. Michigan and California both have very strict gun laws, but you still see high gun crime in some of the bad spots of Detroit and LA.

Of course, gun crime does goes up with stricter gun laws, because then you’re just prosecuting people for violating made-up laws. States that have onerous laws then turn around and say “look, gun crime is up! We should have stricter laws!” It’s a positive feedback loop.
