I am looking at 22 range semis and Palmetto is offering the Walther Hammerli Forge H1 for $199 with a 12 rd magazine.
I understand the FFL (RTSP) would alter the magazine to 10 rds. Instead can I order the pistol without a magazine and purchase a 10rd magazine separately?
you will have to call PSA for that answer, but it has been my observation that PSA will simply ship the gun without a mag, and also not compensate you for keeping the mag
I stopped buying from PSA when they would not ship .223 ammo (ammo that I previously bought from them a dozen times ) to me unless I sent a copy of my FPID. they said 223 can be used in a pistol and I told them to fuck off and suggested they take down the BS on their site that said they were staunch 2A supporters. One threat from the NJAG and PSA folded like a cheap suit. it costs less for PSA to comply with BS infringements than it does to fight for the rights of their customers. Oh well, their loss.
Most ammo sites ask for FID now anyway… PSA does support but their legal/compliance department is why they won’t deal with NJ a lot.. They’re still small in comparison to older, more established gun companies, and their market in NJ is small compared to other non-ban states so they do what’s best for them money-wise.
I have bought pistols from them before knowing it won’t come with magazines, because the deal was just too good even factoring the cost of mags.
Some dealers will ship without the mags, some won’t. Can never hurt to ask. It has also been my experience that most ammo dealers ask for a copy of the FID card now, regardless of the ammo type (rifle, shotgun, pistol etc). It is what it is. The alternative is that they just refuse to ship to NJ at all, which some have done.
Appreciate it but it doesn’t bother me that they ask for my FID card. A slight annoyance at best. These out of state dealers aren’t logging anything anyway they are just doing the bare minimum of what they need to do to avoid being sued by NJ.
I have a Capital One CC which uses a virtual credit card (not your real card #). I may offer a little more protection online. I’m sure most major banks offer the same.
