Looking for a gunsmith in Southern NJ to swap out muzzle devices for me. I recently purchased this upper from Springfield and I want muzzle brake removed, and this linear comp installed, properly timed with a crush washer. I do NOT want the comp pinned. #1 it’s an upper and not a firearm, and #2 I intend to put it on a fixed mag lower anyway. My local gunsmith is a great guy and I give him business all the time. But he is overly cautious and won’t let any upper leave his shop without a pinned muzzle device.
Do it yourself?
As long as you have appropriately sized wrenches it should just be unscrew → screw on → tighten to desired position/clocking.
Not sure where in S.jersey you are but, Ive used Round 6. Had a barrel change and some compliance work done. Quality work and fair pricing.
Not a good idea without a barrel vise. The factory torque those things on pretty good and some even use rockset.
Did you try The Gun Rack?
