Assuming you’re talking Dunkelbergers? Yeah, lived out there for a few years and dropped in every Sunday to check for primers and powder when the wife ran to Starbucks. Their prices were almost always atrocious but I never once saw black powder on the shelves.
Hey Candyman, I have a flintlock that I bought from Sudsy off the old forum. I have everything you need to get started including some power. I’m in Ocean County, if you’re close and interested we could meet somewhere and you could try it out. Once I earn enough badges to be able to post I will more than likely looking to sell it.
Dunkleburgers, yes, that’s it.
They don’t keep it out on the shelves, it’s in the steel box at the end of the counter, you have to ask.
I have a really big mouth, (just ask my wife and friends) scored it out there twice. Got gently and lovingly raped in the process.
One has to be a masochist to pay the current prices. You literally are paying painful prices because ultimately you will enjoy whatever it is you paid for.
I think when Trump wins prices are going to crater. It’s weird, two years into his first term prices imploded. POS ARs were selling for $800 during the panic and two years after Trump won they couldnt give em away.
Powder, both smokeless and black are different animals then guns.
The wars are eating up all the manufacturing time allotments for everything powder related
Smokeless was drying up back in 2019 for some reason, well before covid hit. Primers went caput right after covid.
The last few years havent left much hope for price decreases. Are people still bulk hoarding new stock to keep prices high?
NATO primers still pulling a 2x premium over standard.
Unless Trump ends the two major conflicts the prices wont budge.
I’ve also never sourced any reloading components locally, unless it was a private sale. Even if i could find what i needed, online with hazmat was cheaper when buying powder by the 8lb jug or primers by the case.
Have you tried Dixon’s Muzzleloading in PA? That’s where I get mine. None in NJ that I know of. Cabelas in PA and DE have it sometimes but you will pay top dollar.
I have not. Haven’t made it out that way in a while. But I’ve been striking out at both Cabela’s in the past year. And I don’t go through enough to really warrant paying the HAZMAT.
