IDPA has a revolver division. You would shoot the same stages as everyone else, but have to reload more frequently. The division restricts revolvers to loading 6 shots to make it a more even playing field where 7 or 8 shot revolvers would otherwise have an advantage.
Revolver shooters would need 3 (but preferably 4) speedloaders or moonclips per stage. 6 shots are loaded to make ready and 3 reloads are carried on the belt making 24 rounds available total.
Revolvers must be a minimum of .38 Special making a power factor of 105 using speedloaders or 155 if they use moonclips.
Thanks for the information! I have a GP100, which is not ideal, but is a place to start (It has a 3" barrel). I’ll have to google “IDPA matches” and see what is offered and where the events are taking place.
