I took the Class today at WeShoot

Dq, glad the print issue is resolved. Have you paid the $150 fee to your PD yet? I called my PD after I saw my references replied and asked if they had everything. The officer sent me a link to pay the fee online. He said once payment was received they would start the application approval process.

No I haven’t. Thank you PopPop for the heads up. I’m trying to get all this done before my wife and I open backup for the season. That will be on tomorrow’s to do list.

$150? I submitted through NJSP and my total cost (including fees) was $226…

The way my PD (Piscataway) firearms detective explained it to me was fingerprints are required every three years. So if the last time you were fingerprinted was 5 years ago, and went to get a purchase permit today, you would have to get fingerprinted.
But from other answers on here, that does not seem to be 100% accurate.

My total cost was the same, but the OP mentioned his local PD. I had to pay $150 to mine, maybe the whole amount goes to NJSP if you have to go through them?

Its weird. I haven’t bought anything in NJ in a very long time. My firearms ID card was issued back in 1982. I guess I’ll have to wait and see what my local PD department says when the time comes. I’m not expecting to hear anything for at least 3 weeks.

Of course! It is commonly known that your fingerprints change on a 3 year cycle. That’s why they are only used to identify suspects in recent crimes. /Sarc

Really, you can’t make this nonsense up.!
