I miss that beautiful cosmoline smell. I miss ordering crates of sks and mosin’s. It was like christmas morning cracking a crate and seeing what was wrapped in the wax paper and sticky goop. Ordering spam cans of ammo to avoid the gym. The abundance of parts to refurb or build that old battle rifle. Just good times with history and thinking where has this item been, done etc..

Endless hours traveling to gunshops and when gunshows were fun to go to hopefully find some more history

Same, it was fun. Went in on a mosin crate deal back in the day, grabbed a bunch of Chinese T53’s, SKS’s too. The 7.62x54r commie milsurp was dirt cheap back then when it was available, now we can barely find any. Only sold a few, still have a decent collection, one day if I ever get to retire I will offer a bunch for sale.

When I got back into shooting circa 2014, Mosins were around $125, and people were crying about it then. “I remember when I could get a Mosin for $50.00” was heard from time to time.
