Hawaii Proposed Bill - Carry Permit Holders Must Also Carry Electric Stun Gun

SB 3039, introduced on January 23, “Prohibits persons with a license to carry a firearm from carrying a firearm on the licensee’s person without also carrying an electric gun on the licensee’s person. Requires a person’s license to carry a firearm be revoked if the licensee carries a firearm without also carrying an electric gun.”

The proposed bill is built on many assumptions, most of which are false:

“The legislature finds that carrying a lethal firearm as the only means of defense often increases danger to the public. Data demonstrates that lethal firearms intended to be wielded by a victim to defend themselves often end up being used against the victim or being used to kill another person, instead of being used successfully for self-defense. Other times, individuals using firearms in self-defense injure or kill innocent bystanders.”

I do not think the gov’t can force people to carry any particular weapon. Hawaii will loose this one.

I think Hawaiian lawmakers smoke far too much dope.

What Hawaii is trying to do is get CCW holders jammed up. Either shot to death while fumbling with a taser, or charged with murder because they didn’t use the government mandated taser first.

They will lose only after 7+ years of litigation that the public will pay for both sides to argue. In the mean time the anti-gun, anti-Constitution traitors will count their win and spend the intervening time coming up with some other nonsense to pass when this law gets quashed.

Until there are consequences for officials breaking their oath to the Constitution, this bullshit will continue.

From what I’ve read in past filings, Hawaii appears to cling to the idea that they’re not “really” a state in the United States.

Interesting that this comes out. I kinda had to re-examine my mode of self protection when we were out on RV trips. We travel to many different states and I have reciprocity with my existing permits in many of them. But, if I have to pull my gun, I know every bullet has a lawyer attached to it.

So, I started carrying a Taser, as an alternate, thinking at least it would stop an attacker, and give us time to get out of dodge. But that comes with it’s own legal jeopardy. Plus, it’s a one shot deal, and if I miss, I’m screwed.

The last thing I want to deal with is legal jeopardy while traveling, and getting stuck in an area, trying to clear it all up.

So, I now carry Police strength Mace/tear gas combo all the time. It’s easier to conceal, as I had issues trying to conceal the pistol or Taser in the Summer, being a thin build, and not having it print.

I figure, all I need to do is incapacitate the attacker, and give us time to get out of dodge. And the Mace should reduce the legal jeopardy. I still keep the handgun readily accessible in the RV, so I can get to it, if push comes to shove.

I have to give the Hawaii legislature credit for thinking the way we should be thinking, forward looking offence. I hope the SCOTUS sees what they are doing and incorporate all these fascists’ plans into their final opinion and maybe finally add to their decision ‘SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED period. every SC opinion going forward should include that statement and should be added to the 3 part test. question 1. does it infringe in any manner whatsoever on an american citizens right to keep and bear arms.

what do I say to them, will they take my comment under consideration?

Say the same thing you proposed here (would advise running it through a grammar checker first).

As to whether they take it under consideration - no idea, but hey, there’s not many opportunities left where you get to be a pioneer!

America should be 49 States.
