Has Anyone Seen a G23 Gen4 in a Used Cabinet?

I’ve stopped by both RTSP Locations (driving by Randolph the other day and live locally to Union) and asked if they’ve seen any G23 Gen4’s lately.

The response I got was exactly as expected… the demand is so low that the trade in value is low and most people keep them. Unfortunately that means I can’t get my hands on a gun people want to trade in without going to Gunbroker.

So the question to you, has anyone seen a used G23 Gen4 at a local FFL during their adventures?

(For the record, I’m a 9mm guy, but picked up a bunch of .40 for a good deal and need a gun that can shoot it. And the .40 cal Gen5 guns don’t fit in my holsters with the wider slide).

I don’t know if the FFL shipping fees would be worth it to you, but GT Distributors regularly has Police Trade in Gen 4 G23s.

A few months back, I picked up a trade in Gen4 G19 for $309…and the G23s usually go a little bit cheaper than that.

AIM Surplus also has them from time to time as well.

RTSP charges $75 for a transfer, plus NICS and P2P Execution so we’re looking at ~$92 for a transfer. After tax and shipping that puts me well over $400 for something not in demand. That’s one of the reasons I want to find one in the used cabinet, is to save that $75 transfer.

$92!!!

Holy crap!

How far are you from Monmouth Arms in Manalapan? I believe Steve @Remixer still has some of the best pricing on transfers.

About 45 minutes… which means 1:30 round trip, which means 3:00 in total. 140 miles. $17 in gas and 3 hours of my time. Unfortunately, not worth it right now.

If NICS ever got back to instant, it would make sense, but the fact that it takes days means any savings is transfer is eaten up by a second round trip to pick up the gun.

Did you ever find one? Devil’s Armory in Wayne just sent an email on Sunday saying they had one.

Nope. Not yet. Never heard of Devil’s Armory and it looks like they’re appointment only? I’ll give 'em a shout.

Just did a purchase with them. Process was as smooth as possible and communication was great. Definitely worth the call/email.
