Want!

Damn… More areas filling in at the 4 inch mark… I might need to dig the snow blower out of the shed…

Ethanol strikes AGAIN!

Just went to to gas up the snow blower and do a function check, and @$#*! me, gas is hemorrhaging from the carb. I do not know why it decided to do this NOW, II had it running just four months ago when I changed the oil and everything was fine.

Pulled the carb and giving it a bath in the US cleaner. Also changing fuel lines while I’m at it. They were starting to crack.

So now it is a race for time, will the blower get fixed before tomorrow…. Dunt dunt duuuuun. we shall see.

Did you leave gas sitting in the tank and carb after testing?

The predictions moving again. Suppose to start by me around 8 PM. Let’s see how close they get with their predictions… and no, I didn’t take my snow blower out of the shed… so that means we’ll get 12 inches… LOL..

Yes but four months is not long enough to gel and F up the float. Before that it was stored empty and run dry with the fuel cutoff, so the bowl should have been empty.

In any case, the carb is sparkling clean now, back on the machine, and is running like a top. I discovered two things though, the fuel lines were cracked and weeping gas, not yet dripping. There is no air filter on the carb :face_with_diagonal_mouth: No filter no housing no nutt’n. I only bought this recently and it was well taken care of, garage kept and all.

I’m guessing it was related to no air filter, either dirt got in or moist air got in and oxidized a small part. I cobbled together a makeshift air filter that will do for now.

What a bunch of crackheads at the Weather Service. All this high tech equipment, but they can’t figure out what the weather will do, unless they stick their heads out the window.

Where can I get a job like this, where you can be wrong, and still be employed the next day?

Most people went to bed (except me) thinking maybe a few inches… but no… here’s the warning just posted, 12:30 AM, after it’s been snowing 3 or 4 hours.

Winter Storm Warning

Including the cities of Jackson, New Brunswick, Oxford, Trenton,
Long Beach Island, Wharton State Forest, Honey Brook, Sandy Hook,
and Freehold
1229 AM EST Sun Dec 14 2025

…WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON…

  • WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and
    6 inches.

  • WHERE…Portions of central, northern, and southern New Jersey and
    southeast Pennsylvania.

  • WHEN…Until 1 PM EST this afternoon.

  • IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult.

Looks like it will be 6+ by the time it finishes here in the center of the state.
Crap !

Solid 5+ in Mercer.

See that.. you can thank me for the deeper amounts. Now I need to dig out the snow blower… Murphy’s Law.. and not the FPM law…

The temps will be dropping all afternoon, and stay under freezing for the next day or two, so make sure you do a good job cleaning up. They’ll be no melting for a while.

I’m in TR and we got 6+

Yeah, we had between 5 and 6 here in Lacey. And it was the heavy, wet crap. I’m lucky the snow blower fired up without too many issues. I have a long driveway.

And now it’s all freezing, with tons of black ice.

Apparently got 6.6 inches here.

This was on the car so it did melt/settle a little underneath

2 hour delay for schools all over here due to ice.

This. Light and not a challenge for my ‘blower. Safe & sound with a fire in the fireplace going last night. Easy peasy.

Ours was wet/heavy - light at the top but the ground was warm and it was already melting and slushing by 10AM.
