I carry a shield plus for the most part in the summer. Winter carry is a vp9, somehow more comfortable than shield plus. I’ve learned, for me, that I don’t like carrying with a light, it makes the holster too wide. Long story short, full size when I can, compact when I’m in shorts and a t shirt.
The old standby, the Streamlight TLR-1 was very wide and bulky. The TLR-7A is much narrower, barely wider than the gun and the new HL-X version is nice and bright - 1000 lumens!
I’ve tried the tlr 7, havok holsters. Very nice set up, but just a little uncomfortable as far as the width from left to right, the bottom right corner of the holster pokes a bit when I have it on and I’m sitting a lot.
All depends? Summmertime I carry p365 Xmacro or Shadow 2 carry.
When weather gets colder I always carry the big boys Ronin 5” .45, S&W 4” .10mm or the S&W 66-1 my oldmans Service weapon .357 magnum Revolver back in the 80,s
I have been carrying a Springfield Armory 9 mm subcompact for years, first out of state, and now here in NJ. I recently bought a Glock 48, which is slimmer and has a longer slide and barrel, but it has a troubling number of failures to eject, so I have gone back to the SA SC, which has never had an issue. Thinking of going to a larger Glock 19 or even G34 when the weather gets cooler.
My everyday carry Clothing Permitted love these 2” revolvers most interactions take place at close range and these guns always go bang they can be pushed against a Body and fire or fired from inside a pocket. If I’m headed to a bad area I wear the shoulder rig (Steve McQueen rig from Bullet) as a Backup with the 5 Shot 38 Special and the 6 Shot 38 Special in either the hip or the cross draw both loaded with Buffalo Bore Wad Cutters with one speed loader for each with FMJs for easy speed loading. I’m not a Semi Auto Snob I do own a couple of them as well I just always grab these on the way out the door. PS I also have an ankle holster when the need arises the revolvers are the silver 6 shot is a Charter Arms Boxer that I Bobbed and the 5 shot is a 1980s Charter Arms Undercover
