FRT and Super Safety

Can anyone point me to a Statute that says I can’t own a Super Safety or Device that turns my trigger into an FRT in NJ I know they don’t want us to have them but can they stop us from having them. Thanks Keith

While not banned specifically, I believe NJ still considers it a machine gun.

Nobody can really stop you from having one. You could travel to a free state and pay cash. But if you are ever caught with it in NJ expect problems.

Most companies that make frt triggers won’t ship to jersey

I believe Nj along with dozen or more other states sued and won a block for the sale of and return of FRT/SS devices. In Nj they are considered machine gun conversion devices

they are considered Machine Gun Conversion Devices by Platkin even though it’s still one pull for one bullet but I don’t believe there is a statute making them illegal in NJ

“Semi-automatic” means a firearm which fires a single projectile for each single pull of the trigger and is self-reloading or automatically chambers a round, cartridge, or bullet.

They lumped them in with what they think are machine gun parts. The is no separate statute. If ATF does not believe they are machine gun parts, they are not machine gun parts. That will not stop NJ from wrecking your life.

NJ is famous for moving the goal posts. When so called assault weapons were banned, by feature, the market adjusted and came up with AR pattern rifles that did not meet the defined spec of an assault weapon. So now our NON assault weapons are assault weapons in NJ, JUST because NJ said so. Goal post moved.

If you buy one, install it, get caught, expect severe consequences. However, if you are a millionaire, can afford to spend a few years in prison while you fight the case up to SCOTUS, you will likely win. Your wealth will be gone, and your life ruined, but you will be able to have a FRT trigger in a AR-15 with a flash suppressor, non-pinned threadded barrel, bayo lug, pistol grip and adjustable stock.

Nobody wants to be the test case because the cost is too high, that is the reality of the situation.

Here’s the crux (my emphasis added to the quotes):

Federal machine gun definition - single FUNCTION of the trigger:

… The term “machinegun” means any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single FUNCTION of the trigger. …

NJ machine gun definition - single PRESS of the trigger:

… “Machine gun” means any firearm, mechanism, or instrument not requiring that the trigger be PRESSED for each shot and having a reservoir, belt, or other means of storing and carrying ammunition that can be loaded into the firearm, mechanism, or instrument and fired therefrom. A machine gun shall also include, without limitation, any firearm with a trigger crank attached. …
