I attended the dinner with my lovely wife and some friends. It was a very nice affair with great food and beverages and plenty of guns and outdoor gear available at auction or to win in a game of chance.
Plenty of money was raised for many good causes.
I would like to tell everyone about my experience during the cocktail hour.
Cindy and I were able to grab the last empty table in the room over in a corner and had just started to enjoy the appetizers when a gentleman who looked quite familiar approached and asked if he could join us. I said of course, and he introduced himself. It was Doug Hamlin CEO of the NRA. He is very personable and we discussed NJ legal suits previous NRA issues, hunting and some baseball. He stayed and chatted with us for over 15 minutes. He apologized when he left saying he had to go work the room and thanked us for our support of the 2A.
My impression is he really cares about the organization, its members and the 2nd Amendment. It was an enjoyable conversation and my personal opinion is the NRA is now in good hands.
Just thought I would share my experience.
