What is your favorite coffee and method of brewing.

Chock Full O Nutz is my go to, but I do enjoy BRCC and FMJ coffee from time to time. For convenience, I use an automatic drip but use my trusty old stove top percolator on weekends. I know there are a lot of fancy coffee makers out there, but I don’t love coffee that much that I’ll spend as much time cleaning a contraption as will drinking my cup of Joe.

What I like most about my stovetop percolator is I can control the temp so coffee is not nearly as bitter compared to auto drip. Besides being the smoothest cup I can brew, there s also an element of nostalgia too. When I was a kid, that’s how almost everyone brewed coffee.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why people like K-Cup coffee. It’s like, just a half notch above instant.

Blackout Coffee Brewtal Awakening Dark Roast is the bomb.

Our go to is coffee we found on a trip to the Florida Keys. Baby’s Coffee in Key West. Gets real high ratings from all the locals and travelers that pass by.

During Sandy I had no power for two weeks so my big fancy coffee / esspresso machine was worthless. Having a serious coffee issue (16 oz in the morning and again at 2 P:M +/-) and my having no way to get any was something that could be considered very risky to anyone crossing my path.
The gas stove still worked, just needed to be lit with a match (only lost parts of my eyebrows once) so I experimented with a few ways to make coffee “cowboy style”
Started doing the regular pour over method, bring the water to a boil and pour it over the coffee in the filter in the dripper, wasn’t too keen on that.

Next tried bringing the water to a boil, turned the burner off, putting the coffee directly into the water and giving it from 3 to 5 minutes before straining with the dripper. That worked well, 5 minutes wait using Folgers French roast made a good brew. My son still uses this method.

Finally tried putting the coffee in the pot, adding 15 oz of cold water and bring it just to the point of starting to boil around the edges. Turn it off and give it a quick stir to incorporate all the floating grinds. Strain into the cup just using the gold reusable filter, I don;t even use the ceramic dripper anymore. Best coffee ever !

10 years later and I still do it this way, even sold my fancy machine, gained a ton of counterspace !

And my wife bought me a Nespresso Vertuo machine 2 Christmases’ ago for espresso. LOVE this thing (although the pods are pretty stupid expensive)

Ditch the coffee and take a caffeine metabolite pill instead - Paraxanthine.

Get the energy boost without jitters and without negative effects on sleep.

(example image, although this is the brand I currently use I don’t specifically endorse it over others):

I can thump someone in the head with my coffee cup if they piss me off.

A pill doesn’t have quite the same effect.

Sudsy this is what you’re basically doing. I use mine when I have no power but I like my Cuisinart drip maker a lot because it’s easy.

Your new coffee cup is awaiting you sir:

I’ll be ordering one of these

They also have a 5# mug, recon model maybe.

Through the day, I drink 5 cups of coffee. I never get the jitters or even feel the boost, and it doesn’t prevent me from sleeping. I can drink two cups of regular coffee, and go take a nap if I wanted. Maybe there’s so much caffeine flowing through my blood, that the level never drops…
