DEAL IS DEAD:
Good price, and it checks most of the boxes…except it has one feature I can’t stand. You have to toggle the switch through all 8 modes to get to the one you want, and then back to Off.
I’m constantly annoyed by manufacturers that feel the need to include Wide high, medium, low, Spot high, medium, low, Strobe, SOS, Red, Green, Rainbow, Disco Ball, etc, and then make you toggle the switch through all of them. It is especially annoying with models that, in order to get to the low-light-vision-preserving red light, you have to first click through multiple versions of blinding white light
I’ve got a bunch of PeakPlus Tactical lights from Amazon: small, inexpensive, really bright, focusable, can use 3 AAA or 1 rechargeable lithium cell, and the switch does one thing. Toggles on/off. Though they do seem to be out of stock at the moment.
That’s my hangup with most of these new electronic items. In this case, being able to switch between batteries and rechargeable is a good thing, as the recharge can die at any time.
But many other lights and flashlights are recharge only, so you constantly need to remember to keep them charged. And, in the middle of use, they die, you have no solution to fire them right back up, ie. just install new batteries. You have to plug in and wait for the recharge.
