I jumped on the Ridgid brand that sells through Home Depot a while ago. The tools have stood up fine and a lot of the batteries are covered on their lifetime warranty too. I have not seen a lifetime warranty on any other brand so I think Ridgid are unique on that - I may be wrong.
There are periodic sales with deep discounts or free tools with a purchase.
