Current wisdom on replacing bolt roller clip on M1A?

Hey all,

I have an M1A chambered in .308 Winchester. The tiny little roller on the bolt keeps falling off because the clip is missing.

Searching online, it looks like people have used or created special tools to reattach the clip and roller back to the bolt.

So I’m wondering… is this easy enough for me to do without any specialized tools? Any specific stores or brands I should order?

I haven’t seen the tool for sale recently. Usually Fulton armory has it.

You can mail it back to Springfield and they will fix it for free.. not sure how long that would take..
