Cost of CCW renewal

Only in NJ can a permit renewal cost $471 - $76 for application, $150 for town, $245 for range/class

EVERY 2 YEARS, REALLY!

It is your choice to what you pay for the class. There are instructors that are much less expensive than that, but do not have a luxury air conditioned range. Your money, your choice.

If you really don’t like paying for the class at all, spend your money on getting the credentials yourself and make a mutual arrangement with another instructor to do the class for each other.

You don’t need to take the course every 2 yrs. The certificate is good for 1 renewal. So renewal is only application/town fee.

Yes, that is what I did saving $245, but not available next renewal

Plenty of reasonable classes/qualifications for $75-$100

Can you point me in the direction of these classes. Genuinely interested. The qual price is one of the biggest reasons I haven’t gotten my CCW along with the price from the state.

Also, I was trying to quote Rpatel930 IDK what happened there lol

Ternion training

I should have clarified. North New Jersey lol

are the ranges doing full training and quals for those that already have a ccw? Seems to me all you need to do is qualify. If ranges are charging the full ride just to qual, we need to call them out for gouging. A qual for a CCW holder should be minimal time, fast, and not cost hundreds of dollars for something that a RSO can do in 15-20 minutes.

Yes the class and range for renewal. So sad.

No affiliation, but Ironsights academy does a ccw requal for $75. Unfortunately, they are located in S. Jersey. Might be worth it to give them a call.

The statute calls for the use of force class and CCARE qual every 2nd renewal.

It is not just the CCARE qual.

This is New Jersey. Every application is supposed to follow the same steps, regardless of whether it is an initial or renewal.
