Clay Shoot Dates for Fall '25

The scorching summer heat (and traffic) has given way to fall. It’s time to get together and once again have some fun turning money into nose.

Here are the tentative dates for clay shoots.

  • DATE CHANGE Sept 21st - Clinton
  • October 5th (Clays & Rifle) - Stafford Forge
  • October 26th - Clinton “Tex is in Town” Shoot

Howdy folks. It’s about time we get together again to turn some money into noise. Come join us at the Clinton and Stafford Forge WMA shotgun and rifle ranges for a morning of clay busting and paper punching fun.

200-3531422351

WHO: You, family, friends.
WHERE: SEE LOCATIONS ABOVE
WHEN: SEE DATES ABOVE
TIME: 0900 (we will be setting up at 0830)

If you will be joining, please let us know how many will attend and what you are bringing so we can plan for supplies.

Shooting commences at 0900 and keeps going until we get bored, run out of ammo, or hear mom calling us home. Shoots usually go until about 1300, leaving plenty of time for everyone to stop in at any time and join the party.

As always, these meet-ups are informal gatherings, just plain old fun to promote shooting sports and encourage training, please feel free to bring friends and family.

Shooters of all experience levels are welcome, if you have never shot clays, or want some tips on improving your skills, this is your chance to dust off that shotgun you bought years ago and gain some needed experience.

What you will need.

Bring your shotgun(s), as much #7.5 or #8 lead target/field loads as you want to shoot, and depending on how much you want to shoot, a carton of clay pigeons would be great. Don’t forget eyes and ears. Also recommended is a chair, sun screen, insect repellent, and something to drink.

If you don’t have a shotgun and just want to see what clay shoot’n is all about, a loaner pump action will be available.

Basic Checklist

  • Shotgun

  • Ammo

  • Eye and ear protection (mandatory)

  • Clay targets (optional but recommended for volume shooters)

  • Shell pouch (optional)

  • Folding chair (optional)

  • Water
** If you have a valid hunting license, please bring it.

Unbelievable!
I have one thing planned from now until Christmas, a concert in the city the night of Sept 13 - so no chance I’ll make the 14th shoot.
I should be good for the other two

Which day? Two Clinton dates posted.

Would Sept 21st be any better?

Both. I have a USPSA match on 9/14 and an IDPA match on 10/26.

Bummer. Would 9/21 be any better?

I’m in for that one

There is a match that day, but I don’t have to go to that one. Put me in as a definite maybe for 9/21.

21st works for me too - got some others interested too

Is a hunting license needed for Stafford Forge?

Only someone in your party needs one. If you are with our group, someone will have one so come say hello and bust some clays.

Someone in attendance needs the hunting license, others can ride the coat tails. Better to have a few with though.

Well then count me in!

For those in need, Shooters in West Creek has 135 count cases of White Flyer for $23 and PK Arms in Manahawkin has them for $21 I believe. Both stores always have a bunch in stock and I will be bringing 2 cases with me

It’s always good to have at least two or three license holders in case we have a big turnout and need to set up two stations.

I’m planning to be at the Clinton meetup this Sunday. I’ll bring my license, thrower and a couple boxes of clays.

Anyone that’s donated to the site let me know when you are there as I have a patch for you.

Ah nuts !!
I can’t make it. I have to do a favor that’s going to take the whole day for a family member and really can’t say no, it wouldn’t be right.
(even though I really really want to)

Barring any more surprises I should be good for the next two

This Sunday doesn’t look good for me.
