Case Media Separator basically made from junk.
I got tired of knocking the walnut media out of each case by hand so I made a media separator out of junk. Bonus, my Lyman tumbler fits in the bucket perfectly for storage.
Materials
2x Five gallon buckets (can prolly use 2.5G buckets)
1 10” diameter piece of perforated sheet metal
Glue gun.
Tin snips
Saw
Using an oscillating multi-tool, I cut the bottom out of bucket A, leaving about an inch around the perimeter. I then cut a 10” diameter piece of the perforated sheet metal (originally I wanted to use wire mesh but the 223 casings slipped through). Because I am impatient, I used a glue gun to attach the metal to the inside bottom of the bucket.
I separated a batch of about 100 pcs of .223 and it worked beautifully. Put bucket A into bucket B, dump the cleaned brass in, and shake the ever liv’n crap out of the casings. It makes a terrible racket but only takes a minute or two to get all the media out.
