I’m up on 2/25. I submitted my renewal app on Sunday, December 15. All references were contacted and did their part within 24 hours. My NJSP ORI is Woodbine, but I have no idea how much or what part of the remaining process is on them vs FIU in Trenton (not too much on Woodbine, I hope; they applied a lot of mouth suction to nasty body parts on my initial). My initial app took over 5 months (it bridged the transition in approval responsibility from the court to NJSP FIU) and I ended up sending civil but quite unpleasant letters by registered mail to FIU, Callahan, and Platkin, with copies sent to my State Sen Mike Testa. Probably nobody handling my renewal will recall that. We shall see how long this takes.
That’s what you think
I figure if anyone does, the effect could go in either direction. Might be they want to retaliate, OTOH they might not want the agida at this time. Because there definitely would be some. If anyone in the the processing chain has the intelligence to identify an applicant who wouldn’t hesitate for one second to sign onto a 2A lawsuit, they absolutely would tag me that way
Grima, I remember your travails well. My guess would be that they will make no connection between then and now. My initial permit took over 5 months, this one was 7 weeks, have an idea but not sure why there’s such disparity between PDs/NJSPs.
I think part of that is that there is a lot of disparity between local PD here in attitudes toward 2A, but while there no doubt are some individual NJSP troopers who are truly 2A proponents, Callahan has his head so far up Platkin’s a$$ that the AG may have needed to have a lens installed in his navel so Callahan can see out, and Callahan makes damned certain that the rest of NJSP adheres to the Murphy/Platkin “party line”. Pardon my bluntness.
