Can you guess this failed part?

Can you guess this failed ‘milspec’ part:

Trigger pin

No, but good guess. This is a little smaller than a trigger pin.

Gas tube roll pin

Bolt catch roll pin?

Mr.Stu you are correct

Looks like it took a beating to get it out, too.

A little more than normal. It didn’t push right out as it normally would and I had to use some extra force with a plastic punch to get it moving, didn’t expect it to come out in 2 pieces. But I didn’t have to use excessive force to get it out. What you are observing was done in about 200 rounds since the last cleaning. Thought it wasn’t in the greatest shape (was developing wear) last cleaning.

This was in a cheap $75 Bear Creek Arsenal BCG purchased about 18 months ago. Initially had to tighten the gas key and had to replace the firing pin early on too. Have somewhere over 2k rounds through it when this pin failed.

Emailed BCA about it and they responded in less than an hour that they ordered replacement parts and will update me once shipped. Will see what and when I get it. Hopefully it’s not made of paperclip material.

Received a replacement extractor pin, firing pin and extractor today  Can’t complain about the support. Emailed them a picture of the failed part and they had a replacement to me in a week. Didn’t expect the extractor so that’s a nice bonus.

Check this out mil spec carbine gas tube.

Missing a bend?

Its not drilled out all the way

OK was wondering why the wire. I’ll guess that indicates how far/location of the obstruction?
