There are all kinds of doohickeys to reduce slop but this is the simplest, cheapest and most effective method you will ever see. Do this and your receivers will lock up tighter than a clam at low tide.
You can eliminate the slop from any receiver for about 2 cents. I did this first with my precision SPR on a lark, and it worked out spectacularly. It helped tightened up my groups to .3 MOA. You will need an X-acto knife, scissors, and about 1.5" of blue painters tape.
The O ring method works, until it doesn’t. I read all the time about O rings breaking. Failure is inevitable and the duty cycle is unknowable, it’s the stuff that makes mechanical engineers cry. Not a reliable solution in my book.
