Another rant about endless billing for the old, defunct NJGF site

Since I just finished with my 4X a year call with Visa to dispute the Premier Membership bill from the old NJGF site, I’ll rant about it here.

Maks still won’t stop the billing. All emails go unanswered, and probably unread. PayPal, which handles the processing won’t do a thing, but they’ve long been known to be completely useless in consumer disputes. Visa happily removes the charge every three months, but can’t do a permanent block since they didn’t originate the charge. They’ll keep coming every three months forever, unless and until Maks stops being such an asshat, which appears unlikely.

I’ll eventually get around to cancelling my credit card and getting a new one with a different number, which will solve the problem, but it will require me to migrate about 8 legitimate recurring bills to a new card, which is a pain in the butt I’d rather not waste time on.

Just spitballin’ here. How about if everyone starts posting negative comments on his Youtube gun pages and on his social media pages? If enough “heat” gets placed on him, just maybe he’ll respond, and correct this issue.

You can attempt to harass him via youtube channel comments, however he has the ability to delete comments as a channel owner.

Suggest going this route instead - file a complaint with the PA AG’s office:

I can assist with providing his personal info, but over DM’s. Not going to dox him “in the open”.

There may be an advantage to coordinating this among multiple people so several similar complaints from different people are filed around the same time.

That’s an interesting idea.

I’ve never looked for his YouTube or social media accounts, both because I don’t want to give him the clicks, and I knew he could delete comments anyway.

Let’s leave this thread open and see if anyone else here has the same problem. If we get a few names, you can DM his info and we’ll file complaints. I’d love not to have to get a new CC and move over all of the legitimate recurring bills.

Sounds good, I’m standing by to assist. I have his name, current address (verified by property record search) and I believe cell phone #.

Those of you who are continuing to get billed, what is the vendor name you’re seeing on the paypal payments? (I never directly contributed financially to the old site besides buying a t shirt).

If you know of a current member here who complained about recurring billing for the old NJGF please tag them in this thread.

My charge gets billed as *PAYPAL MUZZLERISEL 402-935-7733 CA

The phone number is a PayPal number, but Visa said Square, Inc is also involved in the payment chain.

Those of you paying via paypal - if you log into your paypal account, go to “activity”, find one of the transactions and click on it to get more detail, do you get an option for “Contact MuzzleRiseL (whatever the full name is)”? If so, hold onto that contact info.

Good tips, though in my case the payment is processed by PayPal, but I’ve never had a PayPal account.

Remove the card from the PayPal account and your problem will end.
Login in to PayPal go to the menu ( the gear shaped icon ) then go to payments.
click on the NJGF subscription and unlink the card you use for payments.

I have not been billed since 1/12/25 and was able to get PayPal to refund the charge the next day. I deleted the recurring payment from PayPal and have not had a charge since but I will continue to monitor the account.

I’m glad I paid through PayPal as they were quick to issue the refund and told me how to stop the recurring charge.

In my opinion only a person of questionable character would continue to allow people to be charged for a service that they were no longer providing.

I’m really surprised not many saw Maks for what he truly was. A money little short scumbag!!

After months of increasingly pissy emails from me, apparently Maks did finally place a stop on the auto billing yesterday. So assuming I don’t get billed again in three months…Yay!

Shortly before that, PayPal had once again refused to take action. The payments are processed through PayPal, but I’ve never had a PayPal account so they didn’t want to deal with me.

No worries…I believe the issue is resolved. I’ve been through the issues with senior parents–your priorities are in the right place.

Holy crap, wasnt sure what that charge was. Thats the old site ? TY very much for the info. He just got me too. I would very much like any pertinent info for the billing company please.

If you paid with PayPal you can cancel the recurring transaction and request a refund and they will issue it almost immediately because it’s a fraudulent charge.

If you paid with your credit card directly you will have to contact your bank. Don’t expect a reply from any of the contact info you have.
