Anyone shot this brand before? How is it compared to Sellier & Bellot 124g?

I haven’t shot it, and there’s very limited reviews out there for it. I bought 1k each of 115gr and 124gr to try.

Here’s what Grok AI says:

Real-world reviews for Panther 9mm ammunition are limited but do exist. On Ammunition Depot, one user reported shooting 1,000 rounds of Panther 9mm 115-grain FMJ and experienced issues with their Walther PDP that they hadn’t encountered with other brands. Another user on the same site shot about 50 rounds and noted good accuracy with no malfunctions, indicating they’d buy again. A Reddit thread from r/ammo in September 2024 had mixed sentiments: one user found only one negative review and considered the ammo “probably ok” at 23 cents per round for 124-grain or 115-grain, but others were skeptical due to the brand’s obscurity and preferred established names like Sellier & Bellot or Magtech. The lack of widespread feedback suggests Panther, a newer Florida-based manufacturer, hasn’t been extensively tested in diverse conditions. Some users on forums like X express caution with unfamiliar brands, favoring proven performers for reliability in critical use. If you’re considering it for range practice, the ammo seems functional for some, but for self-defense, you might want to wait for more data or stick with trusted brands.

Supposedly made in Florida, with some brass sourced from Turkey - wonder how it shoots.

I ordered a case to see how it shoots.

115gr and 124gr cases showed up over the weekend.

Not happy with the packing job by ammunitiondepot.com - Although the 115gr case was double boxed the outer box did not have all seams taped and the inner box wasn’t well padded.

When it arrived on my doorstep the inner box had ruptured and at least one of the 50 rd individual boxes had also ruptured and there were loose rounds rattling all over inside of the outer box. The non-taped outer box flaps had sagged so much in transit that I could directly see shiny brass rounds inside while it sat outside my door.

Got it inside and counted up the loose rounds - all 1k rounds present, but it was a pure miracle that the box didn’t dribble out rounds or that a handler didn’t help themselves to some along the way.

Initially the ammo looks fine, hoping to get to the range later this week to shoot it:

My 124gr outside box was mangled too, but the interior box was fine. 124gr will be tested sometime this week.
