Alt Powder for 700x

Anyone here reload with Perfect Pattern or High Gun?

I’m about to run out of 700x and it’s very difficult to find. Been reloading with it for about 8 years and I’m used to it, but it’s rare as hens teeth, and when available on the secondary market, way over priced.

Two powders seem to be available most of the time, Hodgdon Perfect Pattern and Hodgdon High Gun. These seem to be more reasonably priced and has better availability.

I’m looking for opinions on those two powders and open to other suggestions for a 700x replacement.

What are the burn rates ?

Perfect pattern is a bit faster than 700x and Hi Gun is a smidge slower.

Also considering Alliant Promo and Clay Dot, as they are very close in burn rate.

I admit to necroposting here, but did you ever find the powder you need? I found 700x in stock today here [ link removed ]

Have you ever ordered from that site? I’ve never heard of 'em.

The website linked in your post is a scam site. I was immediately suspicious after seeing many hard to get, and in some cases discontinued, powders in stock at pre-pandemic prices.

I did some digging and found that the site is a no-ship scam hosted in France with a business address in TX that shows a run down residence in a suburban neighborhood.

Beware of scam sites that have hard to find items at much lower than average prices. Also, be wary of sites that do not accept traditional credit cards. Scam sites typically only accept payment by phone apps like Venmo and Zelle.
